Mr. Celeryroot:

If there are more out there who believe my intentions in starting this thread was to provide myself a forum to hype stocks on whose threads I've posted, I would appreciate hearing from them. I've just scanned most of the posts on this thread: as far as I can tell I mentioned FPHI once and UNVC twice (the second time as a side note to Rick Harmon and Baird Soule since they had independently expressed interest in the company). Yes these companies have either pathetic histories or no history and yes that is precisely what I meant by 'wrecks'. I would encourage you to actually read my posts on this thread - I have attempted to discuss a wide variety of companies (just ask Rick Harmon...) of which few, if any, I own.

I had also never heard of TCLN before I posted to this thread. I have a significant investment in Ariad which I have discussed a number of times here and which was not mentioned in your post.

I honestly have nothing against Henry Niman, Andrew H., nor Ligand Pharmaceuticals. In fact, the Ligand thread maybe one of the most well informed areas of SI and this is solely the result of Mr. Niman's diligence, persistence, and intelligence. Problems arose with Mr. Niman not as a result of content or quality but rather of quantity. I have not been alone in this belief.

I think all of us would be honored to have Mr. Niman continue to post to this thread, including occasional updates on Ligand. This is what's known as an olive branch. It would be reasonable to expect Mr. Niman to behave responsibly in return. Do you agree Henry?

Best wishes,
Peter
