"Recent data that show a slowing housing sector hold deep implications for the future of inflation" Author misses the fact inflation has been very high for real people in bubble markets the past few years. Real estate taxes, insurance, utilities and energy get passed long the consumers. Anyone living here in a bubble market that hasn't seen their cost of living rise perhaps 7-10% a year since 2002? As ARM's and monthly payments adjust upward that also is inflationary.
