There are several sources showing where our taxes are spent. Google like I did, and come away disgusted...unless you live in Texas, which lives off the federal dole. taxfoundation.org Even base closings don't affect Texas. Surely you've heard this complaint before about the lack of return of the tax dollar to states like Illinois, New York, New Jersey? Pork barrel lies in the eyes of the beholder. Texas doesn't even pay near as much welfare money as Illinois, yet they get nearly three times the amount of federal monies spent in state. Pork barrel?????
