For your information I didn't like Clinton much either, although in retrospect he looks like a genius compared to Bush.

Cunningham was always a jackass. He was a known quantity down here in San Diego where the voters have voted for criminals right and left for at least 30 years. At least to those paying attention. Nobody in Rancho Sante Fe paid attention unless it meant money to them.

It's not like either party does well for the American people. Basically our government is our enemy as much as the corporations are our enemies.

Republicans do seem to be bigger boot lickers though plenty of Democrats are boot lickers too. The corporations love a yes man, or a minion who has no qualms. Immoral people thrive in corporations, immorality is profitable, especially if you can find something to do that is legal. Of course legal or not legal it all depends on the bottom line. Corporations don't care, as long as it's profitable the legality of an act doesn't mean anything to them, in general. There are exceptions to the rule but they never seems to last long.

GM doesn't give a hoot about the people they laid off. GM is not a person, it's a fictional person. Fictional people do not have morals. Fictional people have public relations people who are paid to lie about how much GM cares for the workers. GM only cares about the bottom line, which is that the stockholders are satisfied and they barely care about that. The important thing is that the people who have succeeded by ruthlessness to rise to the top of GM are happy with the money they make. That's what really drives the corporation. Making cars is secondary.

All that really matters in America is profit now. We are not a country anymore. That's why Walmart can take over a neighborhood with eminent domain. Profits matter more.

If you know how to play the game the military is a gold mine too. Great benefits, poor salaries although those are getting better. If you don't know how to play the game you end up a grunt and maybe on the street. If you don't play the game you don't get the benefits which can be extra ordinary. You don't necessarily have to put yourself in much danger either, and afterwards you can wave a flag and proclaim your patriotism while you draw a fat pension from both your country and the corporation that you work for.

Same as the middle ages except a lot safer.
