<<<Should I take the above to mean that there is a likelyhood that Amati's ADSL line code is going to be incorporated into Msft new chip?>>>

By posting what I did, I was asking the same questions. After chatting with a few who understand Microsoft's end of the spectrum, I'm beginning to doubt this could be ADSL. I hope Mark Lewin will post his take as I think he's got as much knowledge as anyone. If I understand him correctly, this device is most likely cable modem downstream and telco up. When the Bloomberg article said, "The heart of the system is a new chip that combines the capabilities of a TV tuner, cable modem, and high-speed PC modem into one low-cost unit," I took this to mean the device performed these capabilities without actually being them.

<<< How would this impact the C6x chip ....or is it the C6x?>>>

If it were Amati's ADSL, it would depend on release date. If before November, then it most likely would use the LSI chip; if after, then the C6X. Lots of ifs.

I suppose I could just wait till Tuesday and save myself asking so many questions. But what fun would that be???? :)))

Cheers!
