I don't dispute the viability of traditional book stores.
But consider that 1/3 of Amazon's sales are foreign.
The worldwide book market in 1996 was $85+ billion.
Value Line predicts internet book sales in 2000 to be $10 billion.

Consequently, AMZN has a very good shot at achieving $1 billion of revenues in 2000. The debate is, therefore, given that level of sales, what will be the value of the company?

And this doesn't consider revenues from advertising, CDs and other products, etc. Amazon is a selling machine, not simply a book store.
