The relative severity of each politician's "flip-floppiness" is itself part of the "debate", a term I use loosely since this is mostly just playground name-calling by people who lack the integrity and maturity to get along with the other children instead of demanding to have their way.

The only models of consistency I know of in Washington do not hold high-ranking positions. And I can't think of anyone at the highest level I would regard as consistent, certainly not to the degree they claim.
