Just got back from seeing the Seattle Mariners beat the Toronto Blue Jays with a Jay Buhner 2 run homer at the Kingdome and am in a good mood. Anyways, I read the WOW thread over the weekend (>700 messages) and now I have just finished reading all (>1800) messages in this forum. I have pages of notes and have acutally began using my programs. Pat On The Back.
I was able to update, scan, merge and all the good things to actually make my data come to life in WOW. I then decided to try to see what would happen if I 'DELETED' my data and had to start over. Confidence set in and I was able to bring it all back. I refer to how Bob has laid out how he needs to basically delete all files to refresh and get rid of all the extra directories from the daily updates. I was successful.
Ok you veterans, here is the next question; I download the data via the BBS at this point and upon exit, it updates the Qplus data. I take it all updates the Metastock files since I have the auto update in place? It will only update metastock files that EXIST at this time. Now if I do a scan of DAILY.SCN and it produces DAILY.LST; I need to go into QPLUS and manually UPDATE THE METASTOCK directories that have . Let me try this again...
I Do This Daily?

1) I run the BBS update of the data from Quotes Plus.
2) Upon download, it automatically updates the Q+ Master File.
3) Then, since I have metastock update on, it updates the metastock directories for existing stocks that are in the metastock directories.
4) I then MANUALLY run any scan(s) I have; such as DAILY.SCN. This will produce a DAILY.LST.
5) I have to use QP MS output program to update this DAILY.LST only. I do not have to run the QP MS output program to do any of my other lists (OWN, WATCH, etc...) since they were already created in the Metastock directory, they will be updated already. I am only trying to create/update any new symbols generated from any new scans I do? Correct?
6) I then have to go into WOW and merge ALL data and I can go into wow to do any playing on the data.
Do I have the daily routine laid out ok?
I am getting there. My next step is to read all messages in the TA - Beginners as I now have a 'basic' understanding of what I am doing. What I did find interesting today at the baseball game is; If we are all singing TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME; why? We are already there. <duh>
