Jim and ALL, let's discuss MSFT a bit. I have never shorted MSFT and have been long MSFT for most of the past several years as a counter to my short positions. But I sold my last MSFT holdings a few weeks ago in both my short term trading accounts and more significantly I sold the MSFT shares in my long term accounts. Currently have no positions in MSFT either long or short.

The current Baron's article pretty well sums up my feelings about MSFT. More importantly I am unhappy with some of their latest products and especially the lack of upward compatibilty with their own product lines (ACCESS and EXCEL versions). The CTXS technology acquisition (not so good technology at that) points up some potential shortcomings in MSFT R&D. The door is open for competition in my opinion.

Comments? Please note that I did NOT suggest shorting MSFT at this point, I am just questioning the rational of being long........
