The Gore OXY stories are rightwing baloney. It's true OXY had Gore Sr. as one of their allies in DC, just as Chevron and Exxon have Bush, Cheney and many others in the Bush inner circles in their sphere of influence. But Gore Jr. (Not Senior, do not try and confuse the two) has been an ardent supporter of moving away from dependency on oil (and not just foreign oil, ALL oil) for more than a decade. As such, he is an enemy of big oil. Gore Jr. has never done anything unethical via a vis OXY and would never. In fact I'm sure OXY wanted their oil crony Bush to beat Gore and put money behind Bush-Cheney. If you want corruption vis a vis OXY investigate Bush-Cheney's phony disarming of Libya in 2003 which accompanied a massive oil deal. OXY has traditionally been heavy in Libya.
