I was just watching NBC News; they're reporting from NO again. I am not sure where all the help and aid is going but it doesn't look like NO is getting it. Tomorrow for the first time, they are letting people back into the 9th Ward. That's three months........unbelievable. They also showed Pass Christian, MSS. It looks like the hurricane hit just last week....not three months ago.

I have to be honest. I am shocked. People are not getting any help at all from FEMA or their insurance companies. I don't get what's happening. After the LA quake, I had gotten the insurance money for a building I owned and the work completed within two months after the quake. Granted that was fast but not that fast. The quake hit in late January and by March, there was evidence of reconstruction throughout the city. It seems nothing is happening in MSS, NO, LA and, according to you, TX as well. Things are so desperate that some towns in MSS are giving up their charter so they can get state aid. There would seem to be a major problem holding things up but I don't know what it is.

Let me ask you..........do people in Port Arthur and Beaumont talk about not rebuilding in areas that are particularly prone to flooding and hurricane damage? Given the level of destruction, I think that that would be smart. Having said that, I know that these kind of decisions are not often made logically.
