I was just thinking what every American should have, as an insurance policy, if they can afford it.. So here's my thoughts of such a list, starting from the most affordable and the most important...

1. A years supply of nonperishable food and water...

2. A few tens of gallons of gas with a good reliable vehicle....

3. Hand tools including a firearm or two.....

4. A US passport, up to date..

5. A few gold or silver coins or otherwise hard currrency such as other precious metals or stones......

And moving up..

6. Rural Acreage, free and clear, tillable with water, where one can quickly move to.. and that includes the ability to work it, such as to have seeds and make make them grow.. :)

Speculative..

7. Gold n' Silver stocks..

I know there are more but this list just came to me as I was talking about au and ag and why we hold them and ALL of the above...

And so it goes in these uncertain times..
