Hi Tom: As to Momentum plays, in all honesty the way I do it is
not investing, for me to call it that would be hiding the truth
from myself..at least the way I do momentum plays is gambling,
with hardly no intrest in owning the stock..if I lose I lose, if
I win I grin..I don't do a lot of it or all the time, it is sort of taking the place of going to the dog track..
I have some longs, and I'm not the best at picking the longs, and
longs are kinda slow..except if you start seeing one tank..nail
bitting time..but with a few cheap puts, of calls I know what I'm
risking. It has given me some insights, like if I want to go long
go easy, sell some puts below what you would pay, you can use that
to reduce your get in cost, but you can only go in half way untill the
puts expire..as if it goes down there you have to be able to accept
them, any way I guess messing with the momentum has helped me see
how to box in a long..one thing if I go long I got to like the stock
good enough to double up if she falls to a certain point, if I don't like her that good I don't want her, I'm a sucker for averageing down
if need be..but thoes babies have to have value..real value/ low p/e
or p/e at least not over 2x the grow rate..some cash, and not a mountain of dept..the basics got to be good..I'm in AR and I'v doubled
up onec, and will do so again if she fall enough..why becase I know she is comming back and the lower I have my average the better off I'l
be when she does..her basics are too strong to worry about her not..
but I did take a few chances I might not should have..on some others
but u live and learn..
Any way this was just about a few small time momentum plays like
catch the wave and ride it..u'r right it can have something to do with the way the markets moving, but it don't have to..some days u don't
see any good ones..never in time to post them , got to be fast to get on, by the time u post them it's half or more over..didn't see any I like today, I"m sure they were there but I just didn't look at the right ones, didn't look at many..Maria Bartiromo I looked at her.
