it is only logical that only a society with a free market based, capitalist system can produce enough wealth and werewithal to amass such great military power. however, the building up and exercising of such power is still a matter of choice. for instance, the EU could, if it wanted to, also field such military strength. you could say that while the US has decided to waste her resources mostly on warfare, the EU has decided to waste her resources mostly on welfare.
in any case, the danger is that those resources are one day commandeered by a complete madman. it has happened before after all, and can ( and probably will ) happen again. the biggest question of our time is if Bush qualifies. one can't say for sure, but one can sense that lots of people are worrying about the possibility. heard on the radio today about a 'Bush foto contest' arranged by the radio station. the objective is to send them a photo imitating the loopy facial expressions of the CiC. the presenter concluded the announcement with the words: 'if you think for a moment about the fact that this man is the mightiest man on the planet, you sure have reason to worry'. it was said in jest, but as always, the joke harbored a kernel of truth. 'what else is he capable of doing' sure is on many people's mind.

i totally agree...if the numbers are believable ( and there's no reason to believe they're not, per experience HD companies are competently run ) , this one is certainly among the most undervalued explorers. Hollister alone would be reason enough to buy it, Burnstone is just the elephant in the room ( nobody sees it apparently, otherwise it would be reflected in the stock's price ) .

you bought DRD of course. even you must admit it's undervalued relative to other mid tier producers ( that doesn't mean it's really good value, objectively, only that it's good value relative to most other gold stocks ) .
