watcher,

I don't know anything more on the $30.00 for quotes other than what is
stated on their web page. I have never personally used e-trade.

As to your question about bad trades, I had no major problems with
Schwab on the execution of my trades. The problems I had with Schwab
were the following:

1. E-mails that went unanswered.
2. Sending information about my account via e-mail to perfect
strangers.
3. Margin account balances that on screen were off thousands of
dollars for days at a time.
4. Local offices that could not answer any of your questions about
your e-schwab account because they were not allowed access to
e-schwab accounts.
5. You can talk with a live person about your account only about 13
hours a day with an e-schwab account.
6. You can't trade BB or Canadian stocks with e-schwab.
7. In short if you use e-schwab you are considered a second class
citizen compared to those who pay for regular Schwab accounts.
8. And for all of this they charged one of the highest commissions of
all the discount brokers on the type of trades I do.

Since I have switched to Waterhouse, I have really enjoyed the
personalized service and the $12.00 commission on trades up to 5,000
shares. And all of this is available 24 hours a day.
