I understood your point. My wish would be for people to see that any competition is no longer necessary. (I know, dream on.)

The roots of the competition you speak about resulted from the effort to survive or even thrive. Compared to even recent human history, most people in the industrialized world live like gods.

Enough with the competition.

I'm not even talking about the cost and externalities but you can infer we are headed for something much more costly than "one out of four".
