Adrian du Plessis,
First of all let me tell you that for a paid investigator, you start with a biased opinion. And you also take credit for outing mikesloan. Wow ! Let me inform you that there were many before you on this thread that claim to know mikesloan was Merrick Walsh.
You also say mention "mikesloan's campaign of misinformation". In my opinion, mikesloan did not post any misleading information on this thread. Yes, he did post a lot, but a lot of them were defending himself, David Walsh, and Bre-X. He also posted a lot of articles and news releases from all over the world, which I miss. His posts were so much better than some on this thread that promote verbal and physical abuse. BTW, I wonder what you have to say about abuse on this thread ?
Also, what mikesloan may have said in personal e-mails to individual people is between the two parties. It is like a private letter. Believing in the e-mails is purely at the discretion of the reader. As far as promoting and hyping Bre-X, well, I too am likely to talk glowingly of a stock that I truly believe in. And hence, I would beg to differ from your opinion that he hyped Bre-X for his own gains.
About being a paid by Diane Francis, I have nothing against it. But I do feel that you should have posted of the change in your status from being a concerned poster to that of a paid investigator, as soon as you were hired by Diane Francis. To me, it would be very difficult to be a policeman, a judge, and an enforcer at the same time. This kind of combination as you have observed, can lead to abuse and a misguided witch hunt. Why don't you uncover and "out" certain people on this thread that promote character assassinations, verbal abuse and physical threats. "No money in it, eh".
You also say "Diane is a person of her word and can trusted" . You must be joking. Well Adrian, what else would you say about your employer. IMO, she goes with the wind. If it is fashionable and popular to kick a few unfortunate helpless individuals, she would do it, as long as it sell newspapers or books. Let me put it another way. She would never investigate Munk or Mulrooney. Remember the ethical way these two behaved when they wanted to snatch Busang from Bre-X. You know, you talk in glowing terms of Diane Francis. Well mikesloan did the same for Bre-X and David Walsh. I see nothing wrong with it. To each his own.
About Don Clarke and his mission to salvage Bresea. Well, I have asked him some very important questions, to which he has not yet replied. These questions / issues are critical, and need to be addressed before I decide to support Don Clarke and group. There are about 15 questions that I have asked him, but some of the more important ones are:
1. Who will take over the management of Bresea once the current management goes. I would like to know BEFORE not after. It could be a case of "Jumping from the fire into the frying pan". There is no guarantee that the new management will not abuse the Bresea treasury.
2. The current lawsuits against Bresea will not go away just because there is a change in management.
3. If in future there are lawsuit against the management, will the new management not use the Bresea treasury to defend themselves ?
4. The new management will have to educate themselves in doing business in Indonesia, at a cost of millions of dollars. IMO, a lot of wasted money. Bre-X management is already familiar with Indonesia.
Ofcourse, I am one of the very few people that thinks that David Walsh and Bre-X management are innocent. I will hold on to this belief until it is proven otherwise. Furthermore, I believe that there is gold in Busang. Not the 70M ozs as mentioned, but there is some. I do not wish to repeat my reasons here, but if you read my previous posts on this thread and posts to Diane Francis, I have outlined them in detail.
There are many investigations that are currently going on that will have more credibility than anything you or Diane Francis will ever be able to put together. By whipping up anti Bre-X sentiment, and digging up some petty dirt may sell books, buts falls short of credibility. And again, this is just my opinion.
