The relatively slow pace of my (AIM's) buying and selling usually has my results in the "long term capital gain" column which keeps the tax bite down. Since I started using AIM in 1988, my "inventory turn over" has averaged about one full turn in 4 years. That's an eternity compared to most trading systems.

If I were to liquidate right now, only two of the holding's purchases would be "short term" and that would be the one about a month ago and the one at the beginning of the year.

Back in the '80s and part of the '90s I really missed the tax preference given LT Cap Gains.
