Al, Knucklehead - the pill's effectiveness declines over the first 72 hours after intercourse, and young folks have a poor chance of obtaining it if it is not OTC...meantime they get pregnant and continue to abort. It's all about convenience, I know. Forget the side-effects (funny how you're all-too-willing to use publicity material from a drug maker in this instance), forget the moral implications, forget the possibility for overuse. When contraception fails, or when the guy just didn't bother with the rubber, it's all about easy access. Right. Why do you presume to know more than the FDA's own panel of experts who 23-4 recommended that it go OTC ... twice? News to me. Why don't you explain to me why no one is pushing for the birth control pill to go OTC, even though that and the morning-after pill are very similar in composition? It's all about political and social agendas. No wonder you're so adamant about making the morning-after pill OTC, even to the point of comparing it to aspirin. Convenience over responsible medicine, sexual license over morals, tunnel vision vs. getting the big picture. Typical. Tenchusatsu
