I don't think this is the way to look at the spiral. The way I see it is that the spiral suggests potential patterns. There is not just one spiral. Your skill lies in figuring out the spiral in control. So, let's say you draw one spiral and find that the prices are being governed by it, you should follow it till they are not. In that case, you can have an idea of which spiral to follow, but nothing is written in stone. So, the market moves to reveal the spiral structure over the next few trading hours/days. Your skill in detecting the controlling spiral lets you make money. It doesn't mean that a particular spiral failed. It is just that it was not in control. Just imho.
