Well it sounds interesting, but it may blow up in our face, and be worse than if we never intervened in 1990 IMHO.

We seem to be fueling terrorism and instability there now.

Iraq didn't have terrorist there in number before we got there.
And they are new terrorists/insurrgents, not Al Qaeda for the most part.

I don't think Iran will go down easy like Iraq. They would use chemical weapons or nukes if they have them, and we'd have a lot more dead than we've seen to date. Then public opinion will force a pullout, and what have you got then? More people that hate our guts?

Not a good plan to me, but a very poorly thought out one.
