yes, and we have the witness of the Church throughout the centuries. st. justin the philosopher and martyr pointed out that Christ is called Israel in his dialogue with trypho as early as 135 a.d.

st. hippolytus in the third century and st. ambrose in the fourth also concur.
but we need look no further than the testimony of the holy apostle and evangelist matthew:
When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. --Matthew 2:14-15
the holy apostle matthew applies the prophecy spoken by the holy prophet hosea to refer to the Lord Jesus.
When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. --Hosea 11:1

Jesus is the child Israel and Son who was called out of egypt after the death of herod. the holy evangelist says so!
