Indeed, I believe too many people actually saw aircraft, both at WTC2 and the Pentagon, for it to have been an illusion or a myth.
Somehow, I've come to view the "airliner-or-not" issue as secondary.... As far as I'm concerned, the major premise is the nuke-down of the WTC towers. As I said, the 911 conspirators wanted something far more "spectacular" than the simultaneous bombing of two US embassies to psych up public opinion into waging a full-scale war against Iran's neighbors.
Then again, as I said, the whole plot could have been just that: the utter collapse of the WTC twin towers by powerful explosives, followed by the FBI's chase after the terrorists throughout the country and beyond.... Of course, such an option would have led many materials experts to claim that only NUCLEAR bombs could have been used to collapse the WTC. Now, nukes ain't the sort of stuff you find on eBay "for sale". If US authorities had publicly admitted to the fact that nukes were used to destroy the WTC then the whole crisis could have spiralled out of control and into a MAD scenario with a nuclear power --instead of an "al qaeda" mop-up.... And the best way for US authorities to black out the nuclear bombshell was to concoct the suicide-airliner-crash twist --with the additional advantage for the FBI of not having to run after the terrorists (they were all killed in the crashes). And that's the MINOR premise.
Now, tell me, what's the point for us to quibble endlessly over whether "real" planes were crashed or not?!? It's beside the point, that is, the main point that the WTC was NUKED down! Now, I'm willing to grant you that airliners were flown over Manhattan on September 11, 2001 but, as I said in a previous post, those were likely military, nondescript airliners that didn't crash into anything and were part of that military exercise that took place concomitantly to 9/11.... BTW, I suspect that the USAF exercise itself was devised as an "emergency coverup" in case the whole plot turned awry. I mean, the 9/11 masterminds must have provided for the embarrassing case where the hijacked airliners were shot down but nothing happened in New York! The whole whiz-bang bombing of the WTC came a cropper! And we're left with several hijacked US airliners shot down by the USAF --who's gonna take the rap? You guessed it: the whole mess would have been explained away as an unfortunate blunder by USAF wargamers....
