Philosophical Gold Fragments:

The story in the Gold market is now an inflationary one. Prior to this year, Gold was primarily rising when the USD declined or was expected to decline. When the POG starts rising in terms of all currencies, the last leg of the gold bull is upon us. Currently, we are in the bottom of the seventh inning at the grand old ball game here. Time to stretch your legs and consider taking a position before the herd plows into this market. And they will plow into this market. They've done it before. And they'll do it again. There is excessive liquidity out there desperately seeking a good return. Moreover, there is no resistance on the chart once Gold decisively breaks through $500 until the January 1980 highs. (I want to see a close above US $529).

It was a 20 year Gold Bear Market beginning in 1980. The Gold Bear ended in October 2000. I see the inflation story continuing in 2006 for Gold. Many Foreign Central Banks have begun to diversify their currency reserves and are buying Gold. This trend will continue in 2006 too. So, I see Gold rising as an inflation hedge and financial insurance. And don't forget that Gold also represents a capital gain opportunity.

We have a new Dovish Fed. Chairman and one of the best friends the Gold Market has ever had in President George Bush. Sure, interest rates are rising. Eventually, rising interest rates will curb inflation and end the Gold Bull. I anticipate the Gold Market to begin pricing that in come January 2007. But the ride up should be fun and profitable.

Furthermore, I refer to my thoughts here as Philosophical Gold Fragments because all I have to offer are fragments. I possess no system or absolute method of discovering the truth in general. My definition of the System is Rationality par excellance. My definition of Truth is a state of unconcealment where our nerves are exposed and reality is laid bare. I do not measure up to these definitions. But I always strive for the Impossible, Absolute Wisdom. I never stop searching for Truth, in all shapes and forms.
