Len > The Apartheid government of South Africa was Isra'El's second largest trading partner...lots of gold and diamonds and nuclear weaponry. Is that still the case?

No. The present ANC government is very pro-Muslim and, in fact, many Muslims were involved in the "struggle", as they call it, and are still very busy in the shadows pulling strings. I don't think gold is such a big thing in SA these days because most of the mines are old and the costs, especially labor, are too high. But diamonds, that's another story and a rotten one, at that, in which Israelis are involved at every turn and all over Africa. This is a forum I've had bookmarked for a long time:

When the ANC took power here the nuclear arsenal was destroyed and, likewise, the facilities to make the weapons.

Apropos Iraq, there's no way they are leaving and I can think of no better analogy than hyenas gorging themselves on the carcass of a dead buck. In fact, they don't give a damn about the insurgency or how many GIs die or even about Iraqi democracy, for that matter. They are there a) to kill Muslims, b) to steal oil and c) to f*** up the place -- and they are going to do it all.
