TO EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD

I have asked StockMan to put his email address in his profile as a sign of integrity. StockMan did not even reply to this message.

Most of us have seen this type on the Sun threads in the past. The most common name was the most fitting: twister

The following characteristics are indicative of StockMan (twister)'s objectives:

A) Does not generally respond to carefully drafted analysis that is anti-Wintel or pro Wintel competition.

B) When responding to aforementioned analysis, disregards all research and initiates ad-hominem attacks.

C) Is intelligent and knowledgeable enough about the industry to craft disinformation that is only distinguishable from real information by insiders. (A particualarly dark and dangerous type of liar). Will not back up these disinformation posts, indeed - knows that they are disinformation. Spreading it to cause confusion in a deliberately malevolent fashion.

D) Will occasionally crack on the WinTel camp in a touch-and-go fashion to attempt to establish himself as unbiased. But will immediately attack anyone who attempts to follow those forays.

E) Never has an email address on profile. Keeps his identity quiet.

Do not be fooled. There are only two reasons for people like this posting on a thread like this one:

1) The individual is an investor that is either heavily vested in Wintel based companies or shorting Sun and partners.

2) The individual is working for a Wintel company and is performing these actions as part of their job or because of personal investment in the employer.

In either case, you are the intended victim. This type of person is going to try to make a thread like this one unproductive. He does not want people sharing pro Sun, pro Oracle or pro IBM ideas. He does not want investor confidence raised, does not want the often influential people who habituate these threads to get anti-Wintel ideas in their heads and overall wants to manipulate and impede a study of alternatives.

I strongly recommend to everyone on this thread to immediately stop responding to StockMan, twister and all others who show these warning signs. Resist the urge to engage in argument with this type - it is like arguing with a religious zealot. He wants you to argue, to reduce the signal:noise ratio on this thread. DON'T BE MANIPULATED
