The newspaper jobs are closing down because of the free flow of information from the Internet explosion and not due to, as the poster suggests, they being left wing newspapers whom the general public does not like any more.

The GM and Ford losses are due to globalization. I have somewhat of a different perspective on globalization. It is one thing to take software development to countries like India. But to take Ford jobs to Brazil and Mexico because of cheaper labor is what I do not agree since the American worker has the highest productivity as well as quality. US cars break down because of poor design quality not manufacturing quality is what I believe. However, quality work from a American worker is as good or as bad as the management since they are accountable for instituting a good quality program.
