I don't know why it makes any difference if Dr. Sanity is a man or a woman. It doesn't. At least not to me. But then I don't post about her so I don't have any need to know the correct pronouns. My comment was a small private joke, very small. A long time ago when LB started posting Cori Dauber, he brushed me off when I told him Cori was a woman. That's why I pointed out that fact about Dr. Sanity. Part information, part teasing.
