Is Pearly_Button a member of that fringe? It well may be.

You are going to throw in "Amnesty International" in the same basket as me? OK then... no problem. Go ahead with your fanatical nazi right wing plot, evading the law and torturing prisoners, and see where it gets you. The USA is living up to it's prison camp totalitarian status. The biggest per capita prison population in the world, and now all the "rendition" sites too.

What a farkin DISGRACE

The USA is the biggest destroyer of freedom, they even beat Russia in the number of people they throw in prison (per capita). What a pitiful statistic to hold. They are even TWICE as bad as BOTSWANA.

Amnesty fight "ghost flights"

Human rights campaigners are renewing their calls for a public inquiry into so called 'ghost flights' following allegations that Scottish airports are being used by the CIA to transfer terrorist suspects to secret prison camps. It comes after a report in a Sunday newspaper which claims to have photographs which show the airports are being used to move prisoners. The report also claims that Edinburgh, Glasgow and Prestwick airports have all been used as a stopover point for suspected CIA flights. The newspaper says it's photographs from the past year show various aircraft landing which are registered to different intelligence agency front companies.

The planes are allegedly used to fly terrorist suspects throughout Europe for questioning, a practice known as "rendition" as outside of the United states, the prisoners have no American legal protection.

But Human rights campaigners say that rendition is just a euphemism for torture and although they have no evidence that flights have landed in Scotland, they have proof that detention centres exist.

Campaigner Naomi McAuliffe said: "We are incredibly worried about the increasing number of reports about flights landing here. We are calling for a public enquiry into these suspected terror flights. If we are being complicit in torture, then we're bound by international treaties and so it really needs to be investigated if these planes really are touching down on Scottish soil."

The US government has repeatedly refused to comment on these alleged "ghost flights" in Europe, but answers may be saught from the U S Secretary of State Condeleeza Rice when she arrives in Germany tomorrow. It's been reported that the German government has compiled a list of more than 400 flights that they suspect were operated by the CIA.

It now looks as though questions will also be asked of the governments at Holyrood and Westminster
