A candidate can go to a church and speak, but a minister cannot openly endorse any candidate or their tax-free status goes. The entire Falwell-Robertson religious right should lose their tax-free status. And Bush's faith-based payoffs are outrageous vote-buying scams. If a black minister uses his church as a Kerry campaign vessel, that's illegal. BTW, Republicans also speak in black churches. And Democrats speak in white churches.

Bottomline, no party should be touching that third rail of religion, but since the rightwing relies on it, both sides have to. The whole thing needs to be stopped. Remember those people that the rightwing minister kicked out of his church for voting for Kerry last year. Outrageous and illegal. No black mini9ster has ever done that sort of thing.
