Thanks CJ. My wife knows about "Plan B" and how long it's been out in the market. I remember her pointing out that Claratin took over ten years before it became available as an OTC non-prescription drug.

To me, however, the reason why the morning-after pill is being pursued as an OTC drug, but the oral contraceptive isn't, is pure politics. Besides, pharmacists already have prescriptive power for emergency cases when a doctor isn't available, and the morning-after pill qualifies as such a case.
