Your knowledgeable skepticism regarding MGI 114 is a valuable addition to this thread. Some of us (e.g. me) need to hear what you are saying. I hope others on this thread, who are able to discuss the dose level issue with some authority, will chime in and shed further light.

Perhaps the three cases of efficacy thus far were purely coincidental. Perhaps those conducting the phase I trial miscalculated the beginning dose. Perhaps we are not approaching a dose level in which, we are told, the corresponding amount in mice produced 100% results. Whatever the case, I understand that the dose level hit 18 mg/m^2 last week. [The expected next-level dose of 19 mg/m^2 was an approximation.] JVM said in an earlier post that, in corresponding doses, 15 mg/m^2 in mice produced 50% results and 21 mg/m^2 produced 100% results. The current dose would put us right in the middle. If you are right, there is no reason to get excited. If you are wrong, there is reason to start to take notice. If no once else can help settle the issue before then, time will tell.

MGI 114 has always been the exciting moon shot for me in this story. Salagen represents the safety net with bounce. If we miss the moon, I'll just look forward to the bounce. The bounce can be exciting all by itself.
