Those buying January options should consider the possibility that the Spansion offering could result in at least a one-week delay in the posting of the quarterly results.

But since AMD's quarter ends on Christmas, it should still beat options expiration, I would think. Eventually AMD has to have a 14-week quarter but I doubt they would do that for Q4. Best to wait until Q2 if possible.

Another question is how AMD will compare results between "40% of Spansion" vs. 100% of Spansion. Are they allowed to compare Q4 2005 to some kind of previous sales and earnings that are "pro forma," i.e., restating everything with only 60% of Spansion sales and losses factored in? And, of course, there will probably be some "one time charges" associated with the offering.

If not, I can imagine the headlines, "AMD sales drop 15%" etc.

For the early eps contest, I assume that the "total revenue" entry numbers will have to be adjusted by removing some of the flash revenue.
