New World Resource Corp.: Placer Dome Expands Bald Mountain Exploration Adjacent to New World's Long Valley Claims

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 6, 2005) -

NOT FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

New World Resource Corp. ("New World" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:NW)
reports that Placer Dome Inc. ("Placer") has released updated reserve
and resource numbers for its Bald Mountain deposit in northeastern
Nevada. Placer Dome also revealed that, prior to releasing these
resource numbers, it carried out an extensive staking program to acquire
a large land package extending southward from the Bald Mountain deposits
to the northern boundary of the New World's recently-staked Long Valley
claims.

Placer described the area as the "southern extension of the Carlin
trend" and announced that it will spend US$15 million on exploration in
the region in 2006. It also noted that it has five drill rigs currently
conducting exploration and definition drilling on the property. Target
areas announced by Placer include those in the southern portion of its
claims block that are in close proximity to the New World's Long Valley
claims.

As announced on November 25, 2005, New World has staked over 300 claims
in the Bald Mountain region. These claims, known as the Long Valley
project, encompass a total of 6,756 acres and cover approximately 8.8
miles. New World's Long Valley claims were staked based on the presence
of prospective geology in the area, along trend with Placer's Bald
Mountain, Alligator Ridge and Yankee deposits.

Initial prospecting on New World's Long Valley project has revealed
outcrops of silicified breccias similar to those mined in the nearby
Alligator Ridge gold deposit. The Company's claims appear to cover the
projected extension of an important north-northwest trending structure
on the edge of the pediment in this emerging gold district.

Exploration work at Long Valley is under the supervision of Joan
McCorquodale, P.Geo, the Company's Vice President, Exploration, who is
the qualified person, as defined in NI 43-101, on the project and is
responsible for the preparation of the information contained in this
news release.

Separately, the Company continues to review property submissions for
potential acquisition in accordance with its commitment to build a
strong, diversified project portfolio within the Americas.
