Which "people" are you referring to that cannot change with the times? Those supporting clinton or are you addressing the flag burning matter? It appears to me that clinton decided to move to the center on this issue since she opposed a constitutional amendment in June. She does have a very critical election coming - maybe that is her reason.

I don't know if she protested the Vietnam war by burning a flag or if she participated in a burning protest. It is very possible since she was an active antiwar protester. But, that was then, and now is now.

Frankly, I don't care which position she takes on flag burning. She will have to defend her view if she runs for President.

I like change too. However, a set of principles is important to get oneself through life.

My perspective of politicians is that they like change, if it is of personal value to them. Otherwise forget it. They do like finger pointing and they hate accountability as is so often illustrated on the Sunday News Shows. :-)
