It is unclear whether he was calling Ed a traitor. Since Ed i one of my favorite posters and we have pm'd over the years, i would take great offense if that was what Michael was doing. The right has demonized past soldiers at every level if they dont agree with them and i have a big problem with that and i have stated that on this thread. Most recent case was Murtha who may be a sentimental old fool(McCain implied this on IMUS) but certainly not a traitor. Nor is Ed or kerry or cleland or any of the others. None of this makes me want to excuse what chris did in attacking michaels service or earlier his attack on Hawk as a war profiteer. I had this out with folks during the vietnam war era when i was on the anti-war side. As a young man i marched against the war and wanted to puke when i saw some of the groups and people i was marching with. Some of these folks back then were actively rooting for the enemy like jane fonda who was rooting for the NVN to shoot down american planes. There was no doubt about this--all you had to do was talk to them. Some of these folks are here on SI i believe. I dont think chris is one although i think he crosses the decency line often enough.
