It is often sad to see a tradition broken. When the Sox broke the curse of the Bambino, it was a good thing. When the "Fourth Estate" abdicates its responsibility to be honest, fair and honorable it is a bad thing.

But we cannot swell on the past forever. For now, we have Rush, Laura, Sean, Bill and others to provide balance. The one thing I have learned is that nothing is static. Things will change, and these name will lose relevance also.

"There was a time when the information media could be relied on to accurately report the news to, honestly, tell the public what was happening in the world."

I wonder if we are wishing for the good old days. Even then, journalists were filtering the news. We did not hear about President Kennedy's infidelities. We did not hear about many things because they were being kept from us by the media.

Perhaps now, when there is the internet and talk radio is the best time ever to get to the truth. It is just a question for debate, not a statement.
