I also enjoyed the HBO series "Rome".

The following web site provides a detailed summary of the life of "Gaius Octavian" who becomes the single most important Roman leader. Caesar Augustus was perhaps the greatest leader of any civilization.

It also provides the details of what the second season of HBO's Rome will cover.

Apparently the HBO series has deviated in a few respects from what is actually known to have occurred. One item that they changed is that Octiavus was not in Rome when Caesar was killed, so the scene where he and his mother Attia were in Servila house during the assasination was historically incorrect.
