Good to see you back Slider, Got to say the biting acid thrust of your post to nspolar singed my hair, and I’m just an innocent by-standing lurker…

I will say one thing. nspolars statements regarding market directions and calls seem to be made from a person being overconfident and maybe even a little bit arrogant. Not to say some of his calls might not turn out to be right. But that kind of “sureness” always worries me.

Too often, especially in the general gold community, I have noted an argument presented by the gold press and the gold community as to why gold will rise by x amount by x date. Than that event/theory doesn’t prove true. But what happens than? Is there any discussion as to why the expected results didn’t pan out? When was the last time anyone saw a topic on a chat “Why our theory did work”? or “Where our conclusions went wrong”. You just don’t see those topics. But you do immediately see the next theory pop up……

Before making any investment decision I try to make as many arguments on the PRO side as I do on the Con side to ensure I have made the correct Risk/Reward assessment. It doesn’t seem that nspolar has ever expressed a thought that his calls might be wrong or discussed his method to such an extent that it appears a balanced view was arrived upon by the analysis of differing facets and techniques (nspolar I could be wrong about this so correct me if I am). I do worry that some who might make investment decisions placing overweight considerations on Mr. Polars confident calls could regret it later.

In any case… regarding your questions on the sales techniques. My guess was “They don’t have to sell to us cause we sell ourselves”. Not quite the answer you were looking for but close enough in spirit I hope.

Welcome back and looking forward to your analysis without rosy glasses….
