05:01 TWX Icahn warns Time Warner on AOL options - WSJ (18.12 )

Carl Icahn, campaigning to oust Time Warner's (TWX) board, continued to harass the media company over the future of AOL, according to The Wall Street Journal. Amid speculation that Time Warner is close to striking an advertising alliance between its America Online unit and either Microsoft (MSFT) or Google (GOOG), he warned Time Warner's directors to tread carefully. In a filing with the SEC, Mr. Icahn said he might sue the co's directors if the board approves "a transaction that in any way would make it more difficult to realize value at AOL or Time Warner through a spinoff or sale at a later date." He said such a move would be a "scorched-earth policy."
