I'm writing my Senators about the need for a lutefisk subsidy. This vital part of the American culture is at risk of dying unless we act now to preserve it. I think $100,000,000 is about all it would take keep this part of our heritage from dying. I will volunteer to be the lutefisk czar. What's the appropriate salary for the head of a $100,000,000 program? Potatoes, buttermilk, and mushrooms for Christmas Eve never caught hold. Christmas trees did. There are winners and losers. So be it.
