I start wondering, did Berger destroy notes that reference Able Danger. Is that the motive behind his theft and destruction of classified documents?

We will never know. Since ever paper he destroyed was a working copy, I assume that what he was after was notes he made on them when he was in office. That was the only thing that would not have been duplicated on other copies.
