I don't recall the government making any effort to create a fir tree Christmas tradition. And they sure didn't make any effort to create a mushroom Christmas tradition. Lutefisk will have to sink or swim <g> on its own, just like the fir trees and and mushrooms. I would expect lutefisk would fare even worse than mushrooms in the marketplace of traditions.
