Many of the locals did in fact fight for the wetlands; some people were a lot more sophisticated about the damage being done than others. They fought and fought and were ignored. We all knew to some extent but we didn't have a focused appreciation of what the risk was until it was brought home to us. That was my point. I guess it doesn't sound illogical when you say it. <g> You would get more understanding had you locals not waited to get your asses kicked to fight for the wetlands.
