I have followed Adobe for 10 or 12 years, and can't recall any pre-announcements. I suspect that it is partially a reaction to the analysts' downgrades after the last conference call. They (Adobe) had said then that matching or bettering their 18-20% growth goal would be challenging (I'm pretty sure that that was the word) for this and next quarter, and estimates starting falling right and left. I would guess that they are trying to gently win back analysts by not springing too big a surprise on them with this report.

I hope it is better than .55--stock should go into the 50s if it is, I would guess, at least if the conference call goes better than last time, and the analysts don't focus solely on the lost part of the HWP business, and instead focus on the increasing part of it.

Still the Seybold Conference in two weeks should be interesting. They ran an editorial opinion saying once again that they think that Adobe should open their Acrobat code for competitors to come in. With Warnock giving a keynote address, I suspect that that may become an issue at the conference. We'll see how Adobe deals with the pressure.
If anyone is attending, I'd be interesting in hearing details, although I'm sure I'll get a summary from their report. But the summary comes out about a month later. They're typically pretty slow with these things.
