1) Kerry repped hundreds of Vietnam vets all of whom confessed they were ORDERED to commit acts against the Geneva Convention including atrocities. This is all true and part of the free-fire zone and Phoenix Program boondoggles, a shameful era in US history. The gunner on JK's boat Gardner was the one who mowed down two civilians against JK's orders and later had a nervous breakdown because of his guilt. He is the only smearvet to have ever fought with JK (only 2%even ever met Kerry) and lied about him last year with Rush Limbaugh's encouragement. JK was a very ethical soldier in a very unethical war who tried his best and earned his Silver and Bronze Stars the hard way.
2) Kerry helped save the lives of hundreds if not thousands of US troops and POW's by helping to force Nixon into ending the already lost and disasterous war sooner. By 1971-1972, Nixon had already promised to end the war "with dignity" but he dragged his feet, costing and wasting more US lives needlessly and devastating Vietnam and Cambodia with huge bombing runs which achieved nothing but devastation.
3) Kerry wrote in his journal Xmas eve 1968 that he was on the river that is the Cambodian border looking into Cambodia. Therefore on Xmas he was either in Cambodia or right on the border. Same difference. He was there and never denied it. The only liar about Cambodia is John O'Neill, the longtime political hack who led the smear campaign paid for by rightwing corporate money. He denied he'd ever been to Cambodia, but is on tape boasting about a trip to Cambodia to Nixon in 1971. Many swiftboats ferried covert SpecOps CIA missions into Cambodia at the time as part of Phoenix. It was illegal but it was done.
4) Kerry deserved all his medals and never lied about a damn thing. He is an extremely honest man and always has been. Painfully honest sometimes. One of his wounds was very minor, but almost identical to thousands of others awarded the Purple Heart, including one of Bob Dole's. Kerry still has shrapnel in his thigh. Kerry killed a lot of enemy but never bragged about it, never talks about it. As real heros do.
5) Kerry made a blanket statement denying all smearvet claims, saying they had nothing do with the truth, then let his people do the denying of their outrageous libelous claims. He considered a direct response beneath his dignity as the smearvets are low-life political operatives nor worthy of a cnadidate's direct attention. Every single smearvet claim has now been PROVEN false or extremely misleading by independent investigations including the Cambodia claim. All lies and you everyone with a brain knows it. Similar lies were told about McCain in 2000 by the same Rove-Bush connected PR firm which guided the smearvets. These smears should be criminalized and the perps deserve prison time. But so far they're still legal. A loop-hole in our laws.
