Joe is winding down a distinguised political career. He could continue to call himself a democrat but he certainly would not be welcome at party functions. But he is no Zell Miller and i think you recognize regardless of the war that he has been a hard working and effective senator. He has no future in the dems and the DOD and then possible VP gambit gives him one last shot at national office(s) which I think he still covets. mike
