Early in 2000 election nite one commentator said he thought exit polls were showing that bush would have the lead in pop votes but Gore would win EC. Do you believe as cynical I do that if that had happened Fla court and Scotus would both have taken opposite stands? I was angry at Gore back then for contesting Florida the way he did because of the Nixon example in Illinois in 1960. But the more i thought about it, it was clear Gore had won the pop vote nationally and maybe it was Bush who should have conceded so a plurality president could be elected. mike
