In many cases these kids come from brutal homes. If it takes prison to give them a little hope, it's all good.

Just think of a kid who is messed up hearing the words "you did good today".

Sure, but it cannot be seen as a reward, You still have to teach offenders that they have done wrong and you pay for your mistakes. Perhaps take out the game boys and tv's. Don't forget if you are in prison you screwed up. Just cause we are going to teach them to be little worker bees and make their lives better, doesn't mean we can sacrifice the this is your responsibility part of the lesson.
