The international auditors launch revision Chernobyl store construction

Chernobyl new spent fuel store will be set in operation in 2010. Presently the international auditors control the construction.

The auditors plan to finish work by the end of the year and then the second financial transfer may be granted for the project, the President’s press office told.

As a reminder, the new facility will guarantee long-termed and safe storage of all spent fuel of Chernobyl nuclear station. The store had had to be launched functioning in 2003 but failed because of some defects of the schemes. The contractor - Framatom ANP, France reports the project will take 4.5 years to be finished. The store construction is financed by EBRD nuclear safety project
